Last week, I attended the launch of a new safeguarding partnership between The Safeguarding Alliance and BDO UK at the House of Lords. This event marked an important step forward in the campaign for Della’s Law, which aims to close a loophole allowing registered sex offenders to change their names and avoid detection.

Hearing Survivor Ambassador Della Wright share her story was deeply moving and brought into sharp focus the human cost of failing to act. Della’s courage highlights why safeguarding must be a fundamental responsibility across all sectors including housing.

The Safeguarding Alliance, led by CEO Emily Konstantas, has campaigned for over seven years to ensure stronger legal protections are put in place. Their work is vital, and I’m proud that Caridon Group is supporting this cause.

At Caridon, we understand that safeguarding is not just an obligation but a duty we owe to the communities we serve. We are committed to backing initiatives like Della’s Law and embedding safeguarding practices throughout our business to ensure the safety of the vulnerable remains at the heart of what we do.

Standing alongside survivors, campaigners, and professionals, we will continue to push for stronger, enforceable protections and make safeguarding a priority in housing.
